Jennifer Picquet: I have been a part of Northbrook Preschool since 2004, when I first enrolled my son in the 2's class. I got involved with NAPP and acted a room Mom. When my daughter enrolled two years later, I started to substitute teach. One year later, I took a role as a 3's teacher, then spent the next 8 years teaching Pre-K. I am thrilled to now be be the Director of such a wonderful school. I look forward to working with the children, families and staff at Northbrook to ensure it remains the preschool we have all come to know and love!

Lori Vertz

After leaving sunny San Diego, and coming to the peach state in 2014, I was so excited and blessed to find Northbrook Preschool for my 2 young children. I started working at Northbrook Preschool as a substitute in February of 2015. I loved it so much I took the position of the assessment coordinator/pedagogista in August of 2015. I graduated from Clarion University of PA and received my bachelors degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I have been teaching young children since 1995. My most recent job of 7 years was teaching PreKindergarten at The Children's School (A Reggio Emilia inspired school) in La Jolla, Ca. I love seeing the children's eyes glisten and the look of wonder on their faces as they learn and experience new things. I feel honored to work with an incredible faculty in such a warm and inviting environment.
Julie Julie Ferris
Chapel Teacher

I began teaching chapel at Northbrook in 2011 and I love it!  Having the opportunity to teach the children about Bible stories each week is such a blessing.  Children love coming into the sanctuary to sing, pray and learn a new story from the Bible. This year our theme is “All Creatures Great and Small” and all of our lessons are about animals in the Bible or associated with the religious seasons.  Once a month the children who have birthdays are invited to the altar to receive a Birthday Blessing from our pastor.  The classes also take turns performing a song for their friends in chapel. Parents are always invited to attend!

I am the mother of two amazing children. Avery, my daughter, is in third grade, and Ryan, my son, is in Kindergarten, both at Crabapple Crossing. My husband and I moved the family to Alpharetta in the summer of 2016, and then I began my journey with Northbrook. Ryan had a wonderful year in Pre-K at Northbrook in Miss Jennifer’s class. I loved the school environment so much that I subbed regularly and ultimately applied for, and landed a job here. I am thrilled to be working as the Y5s teacher along with Miss Bridget. I was born in Alabama, and since my dad was in the Army, we moved all over. We ended up in Atlanta in 1980 and planted our roots permanently. I graduated from Valdosta State University in 1995 and began working in the banking industry, but felt unfulfilled. I felt called to work with children, so I enrolled at Georgia State University and graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I worked as a first grade teacher for seven years at Sarah Smith Elementary. After having my first child, I became a stay-at-home-mom. Fast forward 8 years, my children are now both in school so I felt pulled to go back to work. The opportunity at Northbrook was presented, and here we are today.
